Hello! My name is Jonathan Hernandez. My wife, Hannah, and I both grew up in and around the La Grange area, and we were married in 2012. We have four children: Sparrow, Joel, Judah, and Ellia. Joel, Judah, and Ellia are triplets. We also have a dog named Honey, several hermit crabs, and a variety of critters our kids catch, like snakes, lizards, and toads.
Hannah homeschools our children and helped start a homeschool co-op called The Well, which meets in La Grange. I have been working in our family business, Fayette Medical Supply, located in La Grange and Bastrop, since 2005. I balance my career in home medical equipment with serving on staff at Crosspoint.
I came to know Christ at an early age, and church has been a regular part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am amazed by God’s love for us despite our failures. Romans 5:8 says, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I also love Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Both grace and faith are gifts from God through Jesus Christ.
I attended Crosspoint (formerly Second Baptist) while growing up and returned in 2005, where I met Hannah. We served as youth ministers from 2013 to 2017, and Hannah led worship for several years and still does occasionally. I have since transitioned to Associate Pastor and teach many of the equipping classes at Crosspoint. I am passionate about seeing the church fulfill its calling and love being part of what God is doing in our community. It’s all for His glory.
