I started attending church at a young age with my paternal grandmother in San Antonio, TX. When I was 7, my parents divorced, and I moved with my mother. After several moves, we settled in Pearland, TX, when I was 10, and I began attending church with my mom. At 11, I went to a revival in Alvin, TX, led by evangelist James Robison, where I responded to the call to accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I stayed active in church, participating in youth events and choir.

After high school and college, I married my high school sweetheart, Sherrell. During those years, church and spiritual growth weren’t a priority for me, but everything changed when I became a father. Realizing my responsibility to be a spiritual leader and a Godly father, I returned to church and got involved in Sunday School. Even though I had accepted Christ at 11, I had never followed through with baptism. That changed when my former Little League Football coach preached a message that led me to publicly affirm my faith through baptism.

In 2001, I was ordained as a Deacon at Shadycrest Baptist Church in Pearland, where I served in the choir, sang special music, and worked on committees for a new music minister and sanctuary building.

My family and I joined Second Baptist La Grange on August 21, 2016, and we quickly got involved. On February 10, 2019, I became a Deacon. I also had the privilege of serving as an Elder for five years at Crosspoint, continuing my commitment to leadership and service in the church.
